In 1999, we met in Oman in a petrol station in the middle of the desert...i was there for a geophysic survey and he stayed 48 h with us for a break; two french guy met in the middle of nowhere...and a long friendship started...we where both from Pau, small city in the South west of France. We started to correspond by email and i proposed to him to publish on the web his stories (the site still exist !! http://membres.lycos.fr/gstarck/index.html)
About one year after he stopped by for a week to my place in Istanbul where i was leaving. And we met one more time in Pau a year later on.
After 2003 I did not received any news and i tried to contact anyone by no news...It was a long time after in 2007 that in internet i learn his death on the road...and i was so chocked and sad has everyone i suppose who meet him and his love for life.
The philosophy of life he had was very near mine...no matter the difference of age we had (12 years);
i tried to contact his familly but without success and may be too late.
I want to create this blog for his memory and so that people he met on his no end tour can speak about him and his Kindness...as he was someone who like to comunicate with everyone...

Soy amigo Eulalie, la viuda de Gerard, y creo que ella le podrá decir algo de él, también me parece que debemos hacer un blog donde viva este gran hombre que dijo una cosa que hoy es un lema para mi:
